Bloom Scope of Our Work

This project consisted of a $21.74 million addition and renovation, mainly to incorporate ADA-compliant features including all remodeled student rooms, bathrooms, common areas, entries, sidewalks, ramps, and parking areas. Built in 1967, the building has expanded 14,000 feet to about 90,000 square feet. Bloom’s scope of services included all structural and civil/site engineering services, and related deliverables, required to complete the design from Preliminary Design through Construction.

Structural work involved designing four story horizontal addition to existing building at the three wings of the dorm building, creating an ADA-compliant entrance lobby on the east side, creating an ADA-compliant ramp on the west side, and structural analysis for creating new MEP openings. Civil design scope included all site utility work, grading, erosion control, new sidewalks, ramps, parking lots, street reconstruction, and sediment control basin. The project construction was completed in July 2019, ready for the 2019 school year.
