Bloom Scope of Our Work

The University of Wisconsin–Madison expanded its School of Veterinary Medicine with two new facilities, including a 57,000 sq. ft. veterinary hospital and a 13,000 sq. ft. arena. The project included significant site improvements such as road and bike path realignments, parking updates, utility upgrades, and enhancements to site layout, landscaping, lighting, security, and signage.

Bloom provided survey and civil engineering services. Bloom completed a 10-acre survey and developed base mapping used throughout the project, along with plans for existing conditions, demolition, traffic control, and erosion control. The team coordinated closely with adjacent projects and updated base files to reflect evolving site conditions. Bloom led stormwater management design to meet strict MS4 requirements, incorporating underground treatment systems, bioretention areas, porous pavement, stormwater trees, and integration with a green roof. The team also designed domestic water and sanitary sewer systems, coordinated permitting, and managed complex utility integration within a dense corridor. Bloom supported all phases of the project, from survey and design through bidding, and provided engineering services during construction.
