Job Description Details

  • Conducting site visits and general data collection efforts to support the design.
  • Designing roadways & trails: typical design areas would include sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, alignment and profile, geometric design, utilities, drainage, typical sections, pavement, retaining walls, construction staging, signage, striping, traffic control, erosion control & removals.
  • Designing civil infrastructure on bridge projects: typical design areas would include site grading at piers & abutments, erosion control, roadway geometric design, guardrail and approach panel details, culverts, traffic control, and driveway reconstructions.
  • Developing grading plans & corridor models utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation (InRoads, OpenRoads, or GeoPAK)
  • Knowledge of drainage studies and stormwater analysis/design
  • Contributing to design reports. This may include calculation workbooks, alternative analysis, and cost estimating.
  • Assisting the design team with bringing all project deliverables to completion. This may include: plans, specifications, permits, and design reports.
  • Ensure projects are being completed on time and on budget.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with Bloom leadership, design team members, clients, project owners, and other project stakeholders.
  • Attend project meetings and represent the company professionally.
  • Participate in Bloom’s mentor/mentee culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 3 to 5 years of experience
  • EIT license
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting to complete all assigned project design tasks
  • Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • PE license or willing to obtain (Preferred, Not Required)
  • Additional software experience is a plus. This may include AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS, MicroStation, hyrologic/hydraulic analysis programs, Bluebeam and/or Microsoft Office software (Preferred, Not Required)
