Job Description Details

• Assist in the design of electrical engineering projects for buildings and systems
• Assist in the preparation of electrical specifications and technical drawings
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, principles, concepts, established procedures, and be able to work closely and communicate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors
• Assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates for material and labor
• Inspect construction of electrical facilities
• Electrical engineering (power, lighting, systems, and low voltage) for the commercial built environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• EIT license (or working towards the EIT)
• Ability to write technical reports and documentation
• Ability to perform all electrical engineering tasks associated with the projects as directed – providing: design and drafting, engineering calculations, cost estimates
• Knowledge of electrical equipment standards is preferred
• Knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting, and fire alarm systems is preferred
• Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently on project design tasks with support
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point) is preferred
