Job Description Details
- Assist in the design of electrical engineering projects for buildings and systems
- Assist in the preparation of electrical specifications and technical drawings
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, principles, concepts, established procedures, and be able to work closely and communicate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors
- Assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates for material and labor
- Inspect construction of electrical facilities
- Electrical engineering (power, lighting, systems, and low voltage) for the commercial built environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- EIT license (or working towards the EIT)
- Ability to write technical reports and documentation
- Ability to perform all electrical engineering tasks associated with the projects as directed – providing: design and drafting, engineering calculations, cost estimates
- Knowledge of electrical equipment standards is preferred
- Knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting, and fire alarm systems is preferred
- Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently on project design tasks with support
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point) is preferred
