Candidate will lead design and plan production teams to successfully deliver roadway, structural, infrastructure, and transportation projects. Candidates should have experience working on transportation projects in Illinois, ideally for IDOT and the Illinois Tollway. MicroStation and OpenRoads are required.

Pay Range – $110,000-$140,000
Job Description Details
- Demonstrated experience and success in managing, executing, and delivering complex projects as well as developing client relationships within transportation services
- Responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
- Client development, maintenance, and management; contract preparation and negotiation; coordination with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling; and the establishment of critical project objectives and performances
- Time management to manage multiple transportation projects at one time
- Leading a team of engineers and drafters, providing guidance, and fostering collaboration
- Ensures the quality of project deliverables, including designs and specifications
- Interacting and communicating effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies
- Participate in public involvement activities
- Identifies, assesses, and mitigates project risks
- Coordinating with subconsultants
- Directing and training staff on project engineering (roadway geometrics, corridor models, staging)
- Preparing project design and environmental reports
- Assisting with the preparation of proposals and contracts
- Managing project financials
- Ability to assess and manage risks
- Ensuring projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Participating in quality control/quality assurance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- PE license required (Illinois)
- 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in transportation design
- Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Illinois Tollway design engineering practices, standards, and documentation
- Experience with Microstation V81 SS10, OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition (CE), ProjectWise, AutoTURN, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam
- Ability to collaborate with the design team, clients, and agencies
- Strong leadership skills
- Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
