Bloom provided the investigation and research, pre-design, and design services to repair structural deficiencies for the Roseman Generator Room at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. The scope of work included repairing an integral concrete slab roof that also acts as a sidewalk to the south side entrance of the Roseman building. The existing roof/sidewalk was showing signs of failure. The concrete was showing signs of cracking and spalling. Paint peeled off on the inside of the room, which revealed that rebars were rusting on the underside of the slab. Water stains and cracking of concrete beams were also evident. To correct these various critical repairs, the structural beam, roof deck, and sidewalk were all replaced as part of this project. Truck-point masonry was included in this project as well on an as-needed basis. All project work was coordinated through the campus physical plant staff to minimize disruptions to the daily operations and activities of the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.
