Scope and Limits of Construction Work
Bloom and a division of Bloom, Vista Design and Construction, were responsible for the design and construction of the new Park Place Bridge over Oak Leaf Trail. The bridge is a two span haunched cast-in-place concrete slab structure with stone masonry building underneath. Pedestrian and bicycle safety were a key aspect of this project. The new structure offers unique aesthetic features such as sidewalk bumpouts and slab section round shapes.
The scope included clearing the site, design and construction of the new concrete bridge, backfilling and erosion control, as well as full coordination with Urban Ecology Center, Milwaukee County, City of Milwaukee, MMSD, stakeholders, and all subcontractors.
