Scope and Limits of Construction Work

Utility maintenance road converted to a 10 foot wide shared use trail. This project was the first Phase of the Cross-town connector bike and pedestrian trail that will link the Oakleaf bike trail to the Hank Aaron bike trail.  Project components included earth moving operations to develop access points with acceptable slopes for bicycle users and to meet transportation standards.  Storm sewer and curb and gutter was installed to address storm water runoff.  The construction of modular block MSE walls and a cast-in-place retaining wall allowed the path to be placed within the narrow corridor and around large electrical transmission towers.  A timber bridge was re-decked and signing, fencing, and plantings were installed for a decorative finish.  This project was governed under the guidelines of a Non-Traditional Transportation Project through the State of Wisconsin, with City of West Allis as the Sponsor.

Bloom completed design and construction oversight of contractor in accordance with project plans and specifications; coordination of utilities; public involvement and information; contract documentation and correspondence; and management of weekly materials and quantities take-offs.
