This project was funded with sources from City, State, and Federal governments to expand Calhoun Road from a two-lane undivided rural roadway to a four-lane urban roadway with raised median. The project consisted of four stages over two construction seasons, including preliminary widening of the existing interstate, temporary structures, and construction of crossovers in order to maintain the six lanes of IH 94 traffic.
The project was located within a residential area with dense commercial facilities and an elementary school within the limits requiring close coordination and public outreach. New developments and utility relocations required additional effort. Bloom’s scope of work included construction management and completion of all project documentation.
