Scope and Limits of Construction Work

This design-build bridge was one of the world’s largest cable-stayed bridges, spanning 1104 meters long when completed. The central span established a new world record in the bridge building category. At the time of being built, the bridge also had the tallest bridge towers and the longest cable stays in the world.

Bloom’s engineers were responsible for coordinating, managing and preparing final design and construction documents, design of temporary structures, as well as methods and sequences of construction for the bridge.  Responsibilities also include providing value engineering services for bridge construction methods. The value engineering approach offered cost effective (alternate) solutions for bridge parts and elements, and provided comparison between different design solutions and materials to allow for cost-effective and suitable decisions for bridge construction.
