Job Description:

Highly motivated, qualified and client service oriented Project Manager specializing in roadway/highway construction management.

• Answer daily inquiries and complaints on project activities.
• Direct staff assigned to the project by organizing, delegating, instructing and monitoring assignments.
• Facilitate adjacent state project, municipal and utility contractor, and other forces in order to minimize conflicts and to expedite the work.
• Evaluate contractor’s methods of construction, equipment, work schedules, and assure compliance with contract and specifications.
• Review project and work zone safety.
• Interpret project plans and specifications, and adjust to fit field conditions.
• Participate in meetings with clients including review and close-out.
• Evaluate proposed changes/claims from the contractors.
• Document project construction activities and quantities including preparation of prior approvals and contract modification.
• Assure material compliance with project specifications.
• Participate in the preparation and administration of the construction engineering budget.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Wisconsin P.E. license or ability to obtain licensing within six months.
• 10 - 20 years experience in construction management and project management.
• Materials Testing Certification.
• Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation construction engineering practices, standards and documentation.
• Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point)
