Construction Engineer – Chicago, IL

Position Description

Highly motivated, qualified and client service oriented Engineer specializing in roadway/highway construction management.

  • Administer construction contracts.
  • Construction scheduling, project budgeting and field supervision.
  • Translate and implement project plans and special provisions.
  • Evaluate and record construction operations.
  • Complete required project documentation including progress payments and contract changes to achieve final project acceptance.
  • Ensure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back check work of others.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients and other agencies.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Illinois EI Certificate preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction management and surveying.
  • Illinois DOT certification in Documentation of Contract Quantities preferred.
  • Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation construction engineering practices, standards and documentation.
  • Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point) and CADD

Staff Architect – Chicago, IL

Position Description

  • Highly motivated, qualified and client service oriented Staff Architect
  • Production of drawings
  • Administration of shop drawing submittals
  • Develop electronic drawings from concept/detail sketches
  • Interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients and other agencies

Position Requirements

  • Preferred Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Survey
  • Land Surveyor in Training a plus
  • Knowledge of Trimble GPS Systems a Plus
  • Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point) and CADD (MicroStation preferred)

  • Oversee the preparation of design plans, specifications, and quantities
  • Experience in the design of highways and local streets and must be familiar with IDOT design standards
  • Manage contract deliverables on time and within budget
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and contracts
  • Ensure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back check work of others
  • Interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients and other agencies

  • Perform and/or coordinate the review of shop drawing submittals and posts modifications as needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
